MOSCOW, Nov 8 (PRIME) -- Russia may introduce strict legislative regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) only after all risks have been weighed, Central Bank Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said on Wednesday at a forum.
“Probably, tough legislative regulation can exist in some spheres, we believe it should be imposed after a thorough analysis of risks, after consultations with the market,” Nabiullina said.
“I think we will discuss all the above with the government,” she added.
The central bank chief also said that the digital ruble testing goes as expected.
“We plan to expand the pilot project next year both by the number of participants and the types of transactions. We plan so far to turn to more massive implementation in 2025,” Nabiullina said.
She added that the central bank is technologically ready for international transactions with the digital ruble, but a lot depends on the partners.
